Auto Dealership jobs are not as popular anymore among Canadians

An Abacus Data survey revealed that millennials (people among the ages of 18-37) are not interested on working in an auto dealership in Canada.  Vehicle sales have reached a record high last year, and the trend is expected to continue. Even with this information out there, only one quarter of the people who participated on the survey, said they have considered working in different areas in an  auto dealership . Seems like millennials are interested in other type of employment outside of the automotive sales industry. Women were less interested in pursuing a career in the auto dealership industry. The increase on sales in the automotive industry has created new opportunities in areas like marketing, sales, IT, service, sales and management roles within the dealerships. In Canada there are more than 3,200 car and truck dealerships, employing about 150,000 people.  This online survey was responded by 2,000 millennials and it was conducted Dec. 22 to Jan. 8. T...

Happy New Year! Welcome 2018...

ELLA WHEELER WILCOX, “THE YEAR” (1910) What can be said in New Year rhymes, That’s not been said a thousand times? The new years come, the old years go, We know we dream, we dream we know. We rise up laughing with the light, We lie down weeping with the night. We hug the world until it stings, We curse it then and sigh for wings. We live, we love, we woo, we wed, We wreathe our brides, we sheet our dead. We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear, And that’s the burden of the year. Another year and another set of a whole new challenges and goals will come but one thing you don’t have to change is the formula of hard work to get the best results.  Keep working hard and persevere to achieve your desired success.  ShipMyRide team wishes you a Happy New Year!

by Ship My Ride Team We have been told time and time again that we need winter tires as soon as the temperatures drop and the lovely (sarcasm note here) winter conditions start to develop, like freezing rain, snow or ice on the road. But why do we have to make the switch to winter tires? Which tires are the best for my driving routine? How can I know? Well, our managers and drivers had some ideas, and we are sharing with you! What makes a winter tire a winter tire? As we all know, tires are made out of rubber, but winter tires are made are made with a rubber compound specifically designed and tested for cooler weather. The regular type of rubber used on non-winter tires will harden on cold weather and cause the vehicle to slide on icy roads. What symbols should I look for on my tires? The weather all across the country can be very different at the same point in time. The most common symbols on winter tires are a peaked mountain with a snow flake, and the readin...
