Freightliner trucks have been part of ShipMyRide's equipment for a long time! Some exciting news have come to our attention, take a look: WINNIPEG, Man. – Freightliner Manitoba plans to build a new, 78,000-sq.ft., state-of-the-art facility at CentrePort Canada’s Brookside Industrial Park. Expected to open early 2020, the new building will sit on 13.5 acres and boast 35 service bays, an indoor showroom, warehousing space, and an enhanced new service and parts department. “Our new location gives us the chance to more than double our space and build an extremely exciting service concept for Manitoba,” said Ken Talbot, president of Freightliner. “We’re excited to offer our customers and employees more: more space, more parking and a more modern facility overall. Avalanche risk closes stretch of Highway 16 (February 8, 2018)

A bit of Highway 16 will be shut down all of Wednesday (February 7) night and could remain that route well into Thursday (February 8) morning. DriveBC says the torrential slide hazard has imposed the closure of more than 90 kilometers of the highway starting 13 kilometers east of Prince Rupert and closure 35 kilometers west of Terrace. The closure is anticipated to last until 2 p.m. PT Thursday. Authorities are cautioning drivers on Highway 16 from Prince George to Smithers about low visibility conditions because of snowfall. They are recommending to avoid driving highway if you don’t have to.     For the last few days parts of B.C's. Auto Dealership jobs are not as popular anymore among Canadians

An Abacus Data survey revealed that millennials (people among the ages of 18-37) are not interested on working in an auto dealership in Canada.  Vehicle sales have reached a record high last year, and the trend is expected to continue. Even with this information out there, only one quarter of the people who participated on the survey, said they have considered working in different areas in an  auto dealership . Seems like millennials are interested in other type of employment outside of the automotive sales industry. Women were less interested in pursuing a career in the auto dealership industry.The increase on sales in the automotive industry has created new opportunities in areas like marketing, sales, IT, service, sales and management roles within the dealerships. More up for electric trucks... Volvo Trucks are in!

Volvo Trucks are stepping in to the electric truck game. They have announced that starting next year, companies and individuals will be able to get a Volvo electric truck. Volvo Trucks will begin to sell these in Europe next year.  “ Electromobility is fully in line with Volvo Trucks’ long-term commitment to sustainable urban development and zero emissions, ” said Göran Nyberg, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “ By using electrically powered and quieter trucks for goods transport in urban areas, we meet several challenges simultaneously. Without disturbing noise and exhaust gases, it will be possible to operate in more sensitive city centers. Transport may also take place throughout less busy periods, for example in late evening and at night. 2018 North American Car of the Year

They have announced the 2018 winners of the Detroit AutoShow . This year’s champs were chosen by a jury from claiming 60 American and Canadian automotive writers and journalists, from a list of three finalists clinched alongside each classification. A vehicle must a chance to be redesigned or fundamentally changed to have a chance to be qualified for this award. Finalists on the 2018 North American Car of the Year were: Honda Accord, Kia Stinger and Toyota Camry.  This year the award was granted to the Honda Accord, winning for the first time, but has been finalist on 2008 and 2013. This year’s Honda Accord is the tenth generation and it was “virtually new from the ground up,” is how Henio Arcangeli described the new design. Henio Arcangeli is the senior vice president for the automotive division at Honda North America.
